Where can you get plastic/steel tongue piercings?
I want to get my tongue pierced, but my mum won’t let me because she doesn’t want the ball to scrape the enamel off my teeth. Do you know where to find tongue piercings with metal bars and a plastic ball?
And if so, will the plastic be better for my teeth?
plastic (acrylic) balls can be bought from any body jewellery retailer, and they should be available at the piercing shop, just ask if you can see their range before getting the piercing….
when you get a tongue piercing you are pierced with a longer bar to allow enough space for swelling. after 2 weeks approximately you return to buy a shorter bar. if you do this it should not affect your teeth anyway.
the only reason it messes your teeth up is if:
A) you dont downsize your bar
B) the piercer has not pierced it in an appropriate place (too far forward, or too far back etc.)
