I disagree about Notre Dame being overrated. They may have been during the pre-season, though. I think they’re right where they belong right now.
I don’t think it’s going badly for Notre Dame right now – they’ve only lost one game against the team that I think is the best in the country – Michigan. The problem the Irish have is that they’re Notre Dame. Everyone wants to beat Notre Dame because they’re Notre Dame. Example: UCLA’s players were saying that they’re considering this game their “Championship Game.” Teams get up to play Notre Dame, and it’s very hard for the Irish to play that way week after week, no matter how good they are.
As it’s Sunday night, I won’t make a prediction on yesterday’s game…. 
I don’t think Quinn will win the Heisman at this point, but it’s going to be close.
I think Troy Smith’s losing ground with 1) the weakness of the Big 10 this season and 2) the questions about whether he should even be eligible due to his admittance to taking money from a booster. Peterson’s obviously out. Slaton at WVU is doing well but suffering from a weak schedule as well. Calvin Johnson is doing well at Georgia Tech but it’s tough for recievers to win since they’re so reliant on their QBs.
Quinn is under more scrutiny, though, since he’s at Notre Dame. It’ll be harder for him, but if he wins against USC and the Irish don’t lose another game besides that, I think he’ll have a great shot.
